Usually a laser harp has just one laser which is divided into a parallel or fan arrangement of the beams. If one beam is interrupted this is registered by the photoconductive cells or photo diodes that are linked with an electronic device. This activates the respective tone. The real tone usually is then created with a synthesizer, sampler or computer.
